Helping Patients Find Their Way at Grand River Hospital

Grand River Hospital, a large community teaching hospital serving Waterloo Region and surrounding areas, faced the challenge of helping thousands of patients, visitors, and volunteers navigate its multi-building KW and Freeport campuses easily. To simplify wayfinding and enable self-service directions on mobile devices and kiosks, Grand River Hospital partnered with Mappedin to deploy digital wayfinding solutions.

Mappedin implemented its Responsive Web App on the hospital website, paired with on-site Digital Directories and the Mappedin Map Editor for centralized, real-time map management. The solution gives visitors turn-by-turn directions, smart search and tag-based lookups (including acronyms and equipment names), supports thousands of daily users, and—per hospital leadership—has noticeably improved patient and visitor navigation by ensuring up-to-date maps and easier route planning.
