Engaging Formula 1 Fans at the Australian Grand Prix with an Interactive Map

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation, organizer of the four-day Formula 1 event at Albert Park attended by over 400,000 people, needed a digital solution to improve fan navigation across the 2.25 km² circuit, replace costly printed maps, boost website traffic, and allow last-minute map edits without heavy development. To meet these challenges they partnered with Mappedin to deploy an interactive mapping solution.

Mappedin implemented its Responsive Web App, integrating a digital circuit map with 500+ points of interest, smart search, GPS turn-by-turn wayfinding, and QR-code access across devices. The Mappedin solution drove more than 213,000 unique visits to the circuit map, produced record repeat-visitor metrics, enabled real-time updates and increased social engagement, reduced printing costs and waste, and delivered a higher return on investment.
