Mast Brothers Chocolate Factory and Mast Market, known for their artisanal bean-to-bar chocolates, faced the challenge of relocating and expanding their operations from Brooklyn to Mount Kisco, NY. They partnered with the architecture and design firm Mapos to transform a dilapidated 10,000-square-foot former shoe store into a new, integrated food destination that would serve as both a production facility and a community hub.

Mapos designed a solution that dedicated 75% of the space to chocolate and food production and 25% to a retail market and café. The design featured floor-to-ceiling glass walls allowing guests to view the production process, a refined material palette for the façade, and a central Dutch door for street-side sales to enhance community connection. The result was a successful new platform for the local food community, creating a place that is always open and connected to its surroundings.
