Mapos was engaged by HSS Wellness Center to create a wellness facility for the hospital's staff. The challenge was to design a space that addressed a wide range of wellness needs, from a gym to recovery services, and to create an environment that was a deliberate counterpoint to the typical sterile and bright hospital atmosphere.

The solution implemented by Mapos used a strategic design concept centered on color and subtle lighting to promote a sense of calm energy. A key feature was a natural cork ribbon that served as both a primary wayfinding device and an acoustic buffer throughout the facility. The result was a non-clinical, relaxing environment created to show exceptional compassion and care for the staff, enhancing their well-being and optimizing professional performance.
