A Maplesoft Case Study
Waseda University, a leading institution in robotics research, faced the challenge of developing complex control systems for its humanoid robots, including the WABIAN series. To derive kinematic equations and manage the enormous code required, they turned to Maplesoft and utilized their Maple software for symbolic computation and program conversion.
Maplesoft's Maple provided the solution by enabling the derivation of control system designs and the conversion of models into C language for actual robot implementation. This use of Maple was integral to the research for over a decade, resulting in the successful development of advanced humanoid robots and helping the team win prestigious awards, including the Robot Academy Award and a Best Paper Award from the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society.
