A Maplesoft Case Study
The University of Waterloo, as part of an advanced research project, required a tool to design a high-speed robot. They used Maplesoft's Maple software to develop key elements of their innovative cable-actuated delta robot design.
Using Maplesoft's technology, specifically Maple and MapleSim, the university significantly reduced the initial development time for the DeltaBot robot. The solution provided highly accurate results and insight into the system's behavior, allowing for shorter development cycles and ongoing enhancements. The resulting robot achieved over 120 pick-and-place cycles per minute and a high payload capacity of 20 kg, leading to significant commercial demand and the spin-off of a dedicated company, AEMK Systems.
