University of Guelph reduces drop-out rates by more than 10% with Maplesoft

The University of Guelph sought to improve student outcomes in its Mathematical Economics course. To address this challenge, the university partnered with Maplesoft to implement its Maple T.A. online testing and assessment solution for a portion of the class.

Maplesoft's solution provided students with algorithmically-generated practice questions and instant feedback, allowing them to learn at their own pace. The results showed a significantly lower drop-out rate of 9% for the Maple T.A. group compared to 20% for the conventional group. Maplesoft's tool also saved instructors significant time on marking, freeing them up to provide more personal attention to students.
