A Maplesoft Case Study
The University of Guelph partnered with Maplesoft to develop innovative methods for using technology to improve mathematics and science education. Their challenge was to create a more compelling and effective academic experience for students while making instruction delivery more efficient and student-focused.
Maplesoft's solution involved implementing its Maple mathematical software and the Maple T.A. automated testing and assessment system. The results included increased student engagement, confidence, and success. A measurable impact was shown in an experiment where a course section using Maple T.A. had a substantially lower drop-out rate (9%) compared to a conventional section (20%). Maplesoft's tools were also used to create a free, customizable teaching kit for other educators.
