The University of Manchester Uses MapleSim in Robotics and Control Systems Courses

The University of Manchester, a major UK engineering university, needed a better way to help students in Robotics and Control Systems courses visualize and understand the concepts they were learning. Vendor Maplesoft provided MapleSim, along with related tools such as the MapleSim CAD Toolbox and a free learning module for forward kinematics.

Maplesoft implemented MapleSim to let students build complex models, run parameter sweeps, and explore robotics concepts through 3D visualization and interactive simulations. The result was stronger student understanding and the ability to apply classroom theory to real-world robotics examples, with the professor reporting very positive feedback and planning to expand Maplesoft use into additional classes.
