A Mapiq Case Study
ENGIE, a leading electric utilities company in Paris, wanted to improve employee well-being while making better use of office space. With 65% of employees on fixed desks and more than 30% of people daily searching for a productive workspace, the company faced challenges finding available desks and ad-hoc meeting areas, as well as limited visibility into space availability. ENGIE partnered with Mapiq to support its shift toward activity-based working and more collaborative offices.
Mapiq installed sensors across the building and turned static floor plans into an interactive workplace map with real-time desk and meeting room availability, plus an analytics dashboard for occupancy insights. This made it easier for ENGIE employees to book spaces and find ad-hoc meeting rooms, while workplace leaders gained better data to manage the office. The result was a 36% increase in meeting room usage, a 30% increase in desk usage, and a 39% decrease in the effort required to find an ad-hoc meeting space.
