Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) needed a way to host, view, and make five years of pavement and right-of-way imagery usable for inspections, pavement maintenance, and inventory tasks. They partnered with Mapillary to store and share this large imagery dataset and to integrate it into their transportation workflows.

Mapillary hosted five years of road imagery as open data—making 5 million images available to the public and to VTrans. The Mapillary platform delivers a polished viewing experience, integrates into key workflows like traffic sign inspection and pavement maintenance, and provides automated feature extraction for surveys and inventories, improving accessibility and utility of the agency’s imagery.
