Straightaway is a route-planning app for home-delivery drivers (used by FedEx drivers who often handle 150–250 packages per day). The challenge was inefficient workflows and route planning—manual address entry, extra driving time, fuel and maintenance costs, missed deliveries—and a need for advanced, traffic-aware routing and turn-by-turn guidance to help drivers work faster and finish earlier.

Straightaway’s iPhone, iPad and Android apps let drivers snap a photo of their manifest to add stops instantly, then use the Mapbox Optimization API to compute the best stop sequence and the Mapbox Navigation SDK to provide in‑app turn-by-turn guidance. The result is typical route time savings of over an hour (about 10% faster), reduced fleet costs, fewer missed deliveries, and adoption by more than 10,000 drivers.
