A Manifesto Case Study
The University of Edinburgh faced a significant challenge with its large and complex digital estate, which included over 2,000 websites and 1.2 million content pieces across multiple systems. This made the web estate difficult to navigate and maintain, and sites built on the soon-to-be-obsolete Drupal 7 needed urgent upgrading. Manifesto was engaged to help the university redefine its digital service.
Manifesto worked with the university on a three-year program to migrate its digital estate into a new, centralized Drupal 9 service. The solution included defining a new information architecture, implementing new governance models, and establishing agile ways of working. This empowered departments to build and maintain their own web presences with appropriate support, resulting in a highly flexible, robust, and scalable digital platform for the long term.
