A Manhattan Associates Case Study

Preview of the Sysco Case Study

Sysco Uses Manhattan Systems to Help Manage Inventory Across 74 Locations

Sysco, a major North American foodservice distributor, faced a challenge in managing demand forecasting and inventory replenishment across its complex and rapidly growing network of 74 broadline and redistribution centers. They needed a flexible, multi-echelon system to balance inventory investment with customer service objectives and turned to Manhattan Associates for its Inventory Optimization solutions.

Manhattan Associates implemented its Replenishment and Demand Forecasting systems to provide a flexible, multi-echelon solution. The implementation allowed Sysco to efficiently move product through its supply chain, from suppliers directly to operating companies or through redistribution centers. As a result, Sysco significantly increased buyer efficiency, improved its year-over-year inventory days sales outstanding (DSO), and reduced aged and obsolete inventory, all while better managing its working capital and cash flow.
