Foschini Group, a leading South African fashion and lifestyle retailer with 14 trading divisions, over 1,500 stores and four distribution centres handling some 40 million units a year, needed a more flexible supply chain system. Its legacy warehouse software struggled with sharp demand peaks and required months of development to implement process changes, so the business sought a solution that would enable rapid, repeatable rollouts across its divisions.

Foschini selected Manhattan Associates (with partner Supply Chain Junction) to implement a warehouse management system and standardised templates for quick deployment. The first site went live on time and under budget, returned to full capacity within five days with higher shipping volumes, and subsequent sites were brought up in weeks; system modules and cross-docking capabilities that once took months can now be deployed in a day.
