Skye Clothing & Footwear, a Johannesburg-based distributor of international apparel and footwear brands, consolidated three paper-based warehouses into a single 15,000 m² central distribution centre at Crown Mines to streamline operations and gain a competitive edge—undertaking the move during a peak season and facing a steep technology and training challenge.

Skye implemented Manhattan ILS integrated with its Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP (implemented by Supply Chain Junction) and modernised the DC with RF scanners, turret trucks and high racking to enable cross-docking. The solution delivered faster, more accurate order processing and inventory visibility: full stock-takes fell from 12 days to 2, picking accuracy and productivity improved, and 80% of orders are now despatched within 24 hours.
