Preview of the Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Case Study

Shanghai Pharmaceuticals implements Manhattan solutions to create agile and highly intelligent supply chain

Shanghai Pharmaceuticals, a leading integrated pharmaceutical group headquartered in Shanghai with an extensive distribution network, faced rapid business growth that strained its warehousing and supply‑chain operations. The company needed to centralize and streamline warehouse processes, improve inventory and order‑fulfilment efficiency, and cut logistics and labor costs while meeting tight regulatory and deployment timelines for a new 170,000 sq ft facility.

Shanghai deployed Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management for Open Systems (WMOS), using advanced algorithms and a phased implementation (including offsite testing) to optimize storage, picking and integration with material‑handling equipment. The scalable WMS now supports over 110,000 SKUs and peaks of up to 35,000 cases per day, reduced daily operational and logistics costs and overtime, improved throughput and accuracy, and enabled plans to expand the solution across its warehouse network.
