Productivity soars at American Eagle’s distribution centers

American Eagle Outfitters, a national lifestyle retailer for 15–25-year-olds, was rapidly expanding from roughly 400 stores and needed a scalable warehouse management solution to support new distribution centers. The company required technology that could be rolled out quickly, pre-allocate merchandise to stores, enforce vendor compliance, and handle case-level ASNs and compliant case labels.

American Eagle implemented Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management solution in a phased rollout across three DCs, enabling much faster flow-through to stores and higher cross-docking rates. Results included tripled flow-through volumes, a $4.5M reduction in inventory, $680,000 in annual productivity savings, 99.8% shipping accuracy, fewer shifts with higher throughput, faster order turnaround (put-to-store <10 hours; some cross-docks ~1 hour), and vendor compliance of 95–97%.
