Picwic Improves the Efficiency of Its Supply Chain With Solutions From Manhattan Associates

Picwic, France’s first toy superstore founded in 1977, operates a 20,000 m2 distribution centre in Houplines serving 22 stores and 2.7M customers with about 25,000 SKU and 12M units per year. Faced with extreme seasonality—warehouse space swings from 6,000 m3 off‑season to 17,000 m3 at peak and staffing tripling around Christmas—Picwic needed to boost logistics productivity, cut errors, speed make‑available times, and integrate a new WMS with its SAP ERP while adding RF, dynamic slotting, cross‑dock and returns capabilities.

Picwic implemented Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management (WMS) and Supply Chain Intelligence (SCI), tightly integrated with SAP. The result: productivity rose 25% (vs a 16% target), error rates fell from 1.7% to 0.4% with five‑times faster controls, receive‑to‑pick lead time capped at 12 hours, average replenishment shipping in ~2.5 days, and early‑December staffing needs reduced nearly 50%. SCI enabled exception‑driven operations and real‑time alerts, giving logistics teams autonomy and a scalable platform for future e‑commerce growth.
