A Manhattan Associates Case Study
Mulberry, the British luxury leather goods maker founded in 1971, operates a 42,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Somerset and fulfills multi-channel orders from a single DC. Facing rapid growth and peak-season pressure, the retailer relied on a paper-based system that made inventory visibility poor, picking knowledge person-dependent, and temporary-staff training lengthy (up to four months), so they needed to automate warehouse processes to support future volume.
Mulberry implemented Manhattan SCALE with RF scanners, completing the rollout within four months; picker training fell to about 15 minutes. The WMS delivered real-time inventory visibility, more efficient picking and labour deployment, better use of space, faster and more accurate order fulfilment, and Mulberry forecasts the warehouse will handle double the current stock volume within a year—next steps include full integration with the host system.
