Matalan improves supply chain performance with Manhattan Associates

Matalan, a UK clothing and homewares retailer with more than 200 stores and three distribution centres (Knowsley, Skelmersdale and Corby), needed to upgrade an aging warehouse management system to support store and ecommerce growth. The challenge was to replace an out-of-support WMS with a flexible, single code base that could handle differing site configurations (manual and semi-automated) and minimize implementation risk.

Matalan upgraded to Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management in a carefully planned 12-month, phased rollout with extensive testing and short cutovers. The low‑risk deployment ran at near 100% from day one, standardised processes across sites, improved stock visibility, streamlined UK-wide stock flow, reduced support and operating costs, and delivered the platform to support future ecommerce and expansion—on time and under budget.
