Movianto, a Celesio AG subsidiary and Europe’s leading pharmaceutical logistics provider, needed an optimised warehouse and distribution system to help high‑profile clients protect margins in a highly competitive market. The company had to support strict life‑science requirements—batch control, expiry tracking and diverse customer procedures—while serving hospitals, wholesalers, pharmacies and home patients across thousands of delivery points.

Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management System (IBM i) automated Movianto’s purpose‑built Bedford centre using RF, ASNs, barcode labelling, batch/expiry control, wave picking and host integration, with replenishment and routing managed by the WMS. The 24,000 m² site now handles 7,000 SKUs and 50,000 orders (≈30 million units) per month for 65+ clients to 35,000 delivery points, has been rolled out to additional sites, and provides scalable capacity for future services.
