Its wave-based, FIFO process produced 5–8 day delivery times, delayed expedited orders during peaks, and threatened to exhaust capacity at its largest North American distribution center by 2021.
The company upgraded Manhattan WMS from v2014 to v2018 and deployed Manhattan Order Streaming to move to waveless, promise-date–driven fulfillment—completed in three months. The change delivered immediate gains: 30% higher throughput, 15–20% improved pick efficiency, 38% faster click-to-ship, near-zero missed must-ship dates, and several more years of usable capacity at the Pennsylvania DC; Order Streaming will also be used in a new automated UK facility.
