Lennox Industries - Customer Case Study

Lennox Industries, a global maker of residential and commercial HVAC equipment, faced rapidly shrinking order cycles as dealers began placing orders much later in the day (cut-offs moved from ~3 p.m. to as late as 10 p.m.) while still expecting next‑day deliveries as early as 6 a.m. The company’s challenge was to increase service levels and speed without raising costs or working capital.

Under VP Keith Nash, Lennox moved from two national warehouses to a hub‑and‑spoke network (8 regional DCs, 20 local DCs, 160 stores and 51 shipping locations) and implemented Manhattan Associates’ WMS and TMS to handle the added complexity. The changes boosted warehouse productivity 24.5%, reduced logistics as a percent of sales by 19.6%, avoided hiring 200+ additional workers, and were paired with a new training program and planned customer self‑service tools to further improve responsiveness.
