A Manhattan Associates Case Study
Lamps Plus, a leading U.S. specialty lighting retailer with 45 stores and an 800,000 sq. ft. distribution center serving catalogue and online sales, faced operational strain as inventory growth outpaced a legacy warehouse management system. Manual paper-based processes and constantly changing SKU locations caused inventory errors, long error-resolution delays, and full physical inventories that halted processing—prompting the need to improve DC accuracy, efficiency, and staffing.
The company implemented Manhattan Associates’ WMS on its IBM i platform integrated with LXE mobile hardware (HX2 wearable, MX7 handheld, VX3 vehicle-mount), automating picking, slotting and perpetual cycle counts. Results included inventory accuracy rising to 98–99.8%, elimination of full physical inventories, 99+% store fill rates, more efficient slotting and picking, reduced DC staffing, and a scalable solution to support future growth.
