Kehe Takes Fresh Approach to Inventory by Implementing Manhattan Active Inventory Demand Forecasting and Replenishment

KeHE Distributors, a 70‑year wholesale food distributor headquartered in Naperville, IL with 16 distribution centers and over 5,500 employees serving 30,000 retail locations, found its legacy inventory and purchasing tools lacked the visibility and capacity to support growing customer needs. The company needed a more advanced solution to understand customer demand, improve service levels and optimize inventory across its large, fresh-focused network.

KeHE implemented Manhattan Active Inventory Demand Forecasting and Replenishment across all 16 DCs, piloting the rollout remotely during the pandemic in close partnership with Manhattan’s teams. The new forecasting and replenishment capabilities produced faster time-to-market and measurable improvements — significant service-level gains plus a 5% reduction in inventory and a 5% reduction in spoilage — supporting KeHE’s goal to become a next‑generation distributor.
