Case Study: Ingram Book Group achieves 25% picking productivity improvement with Manhattan Associates' Warehouse Management and Vocollect Voice

A Manhattan Associates Case Study

Preview of the Ingram Book Case Study

Ingram Book Group talks its way to supply chain savings with Manhattan’s solutions and Vocollect Voice

Ingram Book Group, the world’s largest wholesale distributor of books and audiobooks, manages 1.4 million SKUs across four distribution centers and serves retailers and direct-to-consumer channels. Its complex network of inventory, widely varying order sizes and multiple distribution channels created pressure to cut costs, speed up fulfillment and maintain high service levels.

Ingram deployed Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management, Audit/Payment & Claims and Supply Chain Intelligence solutions together with Vocollect Voice in a phased rollout, replacing paper and scanners with voice-directed picking. The initiative raised picking productivity by 25% (well above the 10% target), halved training time, improved safety and worker satisfaction, and enabled faster, more accurate order fulfillment to reach a broader customer base.
