Giant Eagle, a regional supermarket leader with 221 stores and five distribution centers, was running multiple outdated batch systems that constrained efficiency and kept supply chain costs high. The company needed a single, modern solution to reduce costs, improve replenishment and strengthen its customer value proposition while supporting growth without adding stores.

Giant Eagle implemented Manhattan’s Transportation Planning & Execution, Warehouse Management, Labor Management and Extended Enterprise solutions (with Vocollect Voice), co-developing grocery-specific features such as enhanced code dating, directed putaway, real-time tasking and put-to-store priority bumping. The rollout raised inbound/outbound accuracy to over 99.9%, eliminated mis-shipped totes, boosted productivity 8–10% in the health & beauty DC (3–5% in others), and improved replenishment, traceability and inventory/space efficiency.
