The Forzani Group Ltd. (FGL), Canada’s largest sporting goods retailer with more than 348 stores and headquarters in Calgary, faced a stretched legacy warehouse management system as volumes grew. FGL needed a more flexible, responsive solution to improve product allocation and support a company-wide initiative to optimize store sales.
FGL implemented Manhattan Associates’ SCALE WMS, working with Q4 Logistics to integrate the new system with merchandising, conveyors, put-to-light and RF equipment and to enable cross-docking and pre-shipment planning. The rollout was on time and on budget, delivered full productivity within two days, and produced measurable gains: throughput up 15%, units moved per labor dollar up 19%, unit costs down 27%, and improved inventory accuracy and supply chain visibility.
