Case Study: Crete Carrier achieves network-wide visibility and higher productivity with Manhattan Associates

A Manhattan Associates Case Study

Crete Carrier reinvents itself in joint development with Manhattan Carrier

Crete Carrier, one of the largest privately owned trucking companies in the U.S., operates thousands of tractors and trailers across multiple business lines and sought to reinvent its operational planning, booking and dispatch processes to be far more flexible and efficient while increasing service levels and retaining drivers. The company faced fragmented, geography-based operations with limited visibility across its national network, which hindered productivity and quick adaptation to changing customer and driver needs.

Working with Manhattan Associates, Crete implemented the Manhattan Carrier suite—Driver&Load, Drop&Swap, Fuel&Route—and jointly developed the Hemispheres single-screen view to give planners, dispatchers and customer service a unified view of the entire fleet. The solution enabled cross-utilization of equipment, real-time planning and accountability, delivering consistent annual reductions in wasted hours (an 8% decrease since 2012), lower deadhead, higher truck production, and improved customer and driver retention and overall productivity.
