Buffalo Hospital Supply’s Solution for Rapid Supply Chain ROI

Buffalo Hospital Supply (BHS) is a leading distributor of disposable medical supplies serving hospitals, nursing homes and home health agencies in upstate New York and northwest Pennsylvania. After several years of 20–25% annual growth and inventory increases of more than 30%, BHS’s largely paper-based processes produced limited visibility, declining order accuracy, longer dock-to-stock times and rising labor and carrying costs, prompting a move to a modern supply chain solution.

BHS implemented Manhattan SCALE at its 148,000 sq ft DC (processing ~4,000 lines / 10,000 containers per day) and later added voice picking, volumetrics, cartonization and staging. The solution improved inventory accuracy, cut dock-to-stock to a single shift, eliminated two physical inventories, achieved picking accuracy above 99% with average fill rates around 96–98%, reduced staffing nearly 30%, and delivered ROI in about 14 months.
