How A Modern Intranet Provides Accessibility & Community

The University of Illinois’ Education Justice Project (EJP), a college‑in‑prison program run out of Urbana‑Champaign, needed a reliable, easy‑to‑use way to keep instructors, tutors, workshop facilitators and volunteers connected across locations and in time‑sensitive situations (lockdowns, cancellations, travel issues). Traditional phone trees and email weren’t effective, and many participants were not highly tech‑savvy, so the team selected MangoApps’ collaboration/intranet platform to address those challenges.

MangoApps implemented an intuitive, centralized platform for real‑time alerts, group messaging, file sharing and organized groups, becoming EJP’s primary medium for coordination. As a result, MangoApps enabled faster response to urgent situations, simplified outreach and troubleshooting, reduced reliance on phone/email, and strengthened community engagement and resource sharing—backed by responsive MangoApps support that kept the system accessible to all users.
