How A Mobile App Connected A Remote Workforce

Benchmark Human Services, a Fort Wayne–based nonprofit with 4,000+ employees that supports people with disabilities and behavioral health needs, faced a major communication challenge: roughly 85% of its staff work remotely in client homes and aren’t on a corporate email network. To unite this dispersed workforce and improve engagement, Benchmark evaluated several vendors and selected the MangoApps mobile platform for its user-friendly interface and suitability for employees with varied tech comfort levels.

MangoApps delivered a customized mobile app—built with weekly collaboration, a pilot of 40 users, and modular features like dashboards, group spaces and push notifications—enabling supervisors to connect teams and send critical updates (especially during COVID-19). The rollout was smooth and well supported by MangoApps’ technical team, and within months more than one-third of Benchmark’s workforce had adopted the app as part of their daily workflow, improving timely communication and employee engagement.
