Case Study: The Auto Club Group strengthens cyber readiness and cuts MTTR by 67% with Mandiant

A Mandiant Case Study

Preview of the The Auto Club Group Case Study

Organization Strengthens Cyber Readiness With Active Ransomware

The Auto Club Group (AAA – The Auto Club Group), the second-largest AAA club serving over 13 million members, needed to ensure continuous availability of critical member services (roadside assistance, insurance, banking) and defend against “unknown unknowns” such as zero‑day ransomware. To strengthen cyber readiness, ACG partnered with Mandiant and adopted the Mandiant Advantage platform, notably Mandiant Advantage Security Validation and Mandiant Advantage Threat Intelligence, to proactively test and assess their defenses.

Mandiant implemented intelligence‑led validation—running emulated and live malware in a protected environment (“Protected Theater”), testing EDR products, and using threat intelligence to prioritize realistic attack simulations—so ACG could measure detections, fix gaps, and improve response processes. As a result of Mandiant’s solutions and workflows, The Auto Club Group gained actionable data on active ransomware families, reduced mean time to resolution by 67%, improved reporting on security effectiveness, and lowered overall risk exposure.
