Ualá is an Argentine fintech founded in 2017 that provides a 100% digital prepaid/debit Mastercard and mobile app to bring banking services to underbanked consumers across LATAM. Facing rapid demand for digital loans and the need to scale quickly across new markets while keeping a seamless mobile experience, Ualá selected Mambu’s SaaS, cloud-native banking platform to power its lending and core banking capabilities.

Using Mambu’s composable platform (deployed on AWS), Ualá integrated the solution in two months and launched an MVP in 15 months; all loans are now serviced on the Mambu platform with a 24-hour credit decision and fully digital applications. The outcome: Ualá has issued 4+ million cards (including more than 1 million in a two‑year period), granted 85,000+ loans to 50,000 users and 900,000+ BNPL installment loans to over 200,000 users, and rapidly expanded into Mexico and Colombia—contributing to a valuation rise to about $2.45 billion by September 2021.
