Royal Veterinary College immunized endpoints against ransomware infections

The Royal Veterinary College (RVC), part of the University of London and the largest vet school in the English-speaking world, suffered a 2013 ransomware incident that encrypted more than 1 TB of data across its two campuses. RVC relied on traditional antivirus and had little visibility into infections or spread, so the IT team sought an additional layer of defense specifically against ransomware, exploits, and targeted malware.

RVC deployed Malwarebytes Endpoint Security alongside Microsoft Endpoint Protection using SCCM in a plug-and-play rollout with no impact on endpoint performance. The solution stopped ransomware and malware outbreaks, prevented further ransomware infections since 2014, strengthened protection against targeted attacks, and gave the college actionable visibility and reporting on threats and incidents.
