Rigaku Americas gains X-ray vision into ransomware and malware

Rigaku Americas, the U.S. arm of a global provider of X‑ray, spectroscopy and crystallography instruments for nanotechnology, life‑sciences and manufacturing, was seeing rising malware and ransomware infections that caused data loss and downtime. Remote and mobile users—who often missed updates—were especially vulnerable, and existing protections (AppRiver, Microsoft Endpoint Protection and perimeter appliances) weren’t preventing incidents that sometimes spread to network file servers.

Rigaku deployed Malwarebytes Endpoint Security with anti‑exploit, anti‑ransomware and centralized monitoring, using the Management Console to push installs, run scans and receive threat reports. The team immediately uncovered large volumes of previously undetected threats (one machine showed ~1,500 items), began proactively blocking and quarantining malware, prevented further ransomware infections, and reduced recovery time and ongoing risk for remote users.
