A Malwarebytes Case Study
IntraHealth International is a global nonprofit (founded in 1979) that supports health workers across 37 countries with more than 500 staff and many remote offices that often lack local IT. The organization faced frequent, varied endpoint infections and in April 2018 suffered a ransomware attack that disabled its BitDefender antivirus and encrypted systems, prompting a forensic response and a need to scale protection while simplifying endpoint security.
After a 30-day trial, IntraHealth replaced BitDefender with Malwarebytes Endpoint Protection, deployed via group policy and integrated with Cisco Meraki firewalls. The switch delivered “live” visibility and proactive detection, allowed rapid isolation of infected machines, streamlined remediation and updates for remote users, and prevented further ransomware encryption while improving overall responsiveness and confidence.
