Hypertherm Cuts Malware Out Of The Picture

Hypertherm, a global manufacturer of industrial cutting solutions with about 1,500 employees, was seeing degraded application performance and frequent malware/PUP infections across its 1,500 company-issued laptops. The incumbent antivirus often failed to remediate infections, full scans disrupted users’ work, and the help desk spent roughly six hours per week cleaning systems.

Hypertherm deployed 1,500 licenses of Malwarebytes Anti‑Malware for Business with the Management Console (alongside Sophos) to enable fast “flash” scans, remote scheduling and centralized visibility. Cleanup time dropped to under one hour per week, PUPs and fake scans were largely eliminated, application performance improved, recurring incidents were proactively identified, and the solution delivered a rapid return on investment.
