Electrical Contracting Firm Short-Circuits Malware Threats

Briggs Electric, an electrical contracting firm with about 150 staff across Tustin, CA and Carson City, NV, faced growing malware problems on laptops and desktops despite using Trend Micro antivirus. In 2015 the company was hit by CryptoLocker ransomware, which encrypted critical Office and PDF files and required a week-long recovery, prompting the IT team to add a stronger layer of protection.

Briggs deployed Malwarebytes Endpoint Security (Anti‑Malware, Anti‑Exploit and the Management Console), which quickly remediated the CryptoLocker infection, removed widespread unwanted software, and now blocks new exploits and intrusion attempts on servers (including email-borne threats). The result is improved endpoint and server protection, simpler remediation workflows, and greater operational peace of mind for the IT team.
