HPDC, an NGO promoting transparency in the building and construction industry, sought to make its Health Product Declaration (HPD) Open Standard more accessible. The challenge was to help companies, especially those with small compliance teams, overcome the daunting task of completing HPDs, which required detailed product formulation data and hazard information from complex supply chains. Makersite was engaged to develop a solution to simplify this process and improve supplier collaboration.

Makersite powered a new component for the HPD Open Standard called Supplier HPD. This online platform uses a bill-of-materials-centered approach for automated screening against regulations and live data sources to check for restricted substances. The solution provided by Makersite enabled better communication with suppliers, improved data quality throughout the supply chain, and allowed manufacturers to complete a full regulatory assessment in minutes instead of months or years.
