The customer, Dragontech, was an agritech startup co-founded by veteran researcher Mel Wieting. Their challenge was to develop a standardized, out-of-the-box data-gathering platform for farmers, which required creating custom mounts to integrate advanced and expensive sensors onto enterprise drones.

The vendor, MakerBot, provided a METHOD X 3D printer, which was used to rapidly prototype and produce strong carbon fiber mounting brackets. This solution enabled agile design, testing, and on-demand production of parts, saving significant time over traditional supply methods and providing the strength required to safely mount valuable equipment. MakerBot's technology was central to creating Dragontech's integrated sensor platform.
