Florida Polytechnic University, the 12th and newest member of the State University System of Florida, needed to establish a hands‑on, technology‑rich STEM program that would attract students, faculty, and industry partners. To outfit its labs and showcase a modern makerspace at the center of campus, Florida Poly partnered with MakerBot and acquired a MakerBot Innovation Center featuring more than 50 MakerBot Replicator® 3D Printers.

MakerBot delivered a full Innovation Center solution—Replicator Mini, Desktop and Z18 printers networked on the MakerBot Innovation Center Management Platform, plus installation, support and MakerBot Learning sessions. The MakerBot makerspace became a campus focal point, generating global press coverage, enhancing recruitment (now the largest MakerBot space in the country), giving students one‑to‑one 3D printing experience, and producing a strong return on investment in less than a year.
