Auto Design & Engineering Firm, Callum, Uses Method X to Produce Parts for Its Aston Martin Callum Vanquish 25 by R-reforged

Aston Martin required highly customized, low‑volume parts and tooling for the limited‑edition Aston Martin CALLUM Vanquish 25 by R‑Reforged, but faced long lead times and the limitations of basic in‑house 3D printing and outsourcing. To meet the growing demand for bespoke components and faster iteration, the design and engineering partner CALLUM adopted MakerBot’s METHOD X industrial‑grade 3D printer to close gaps in strength, surface finish and dimensional accuracy.

MakerBot’s METHOD X was installed at CALLUM to produce functional prototypes, tooling and end‑use parts (including brake ducts) for the 25 Vanquish 25 cars and other projects. The solution enabled parts to be printed on demand in hours instead of the several weeks required for outsourcing, reduced costs by eliminating external vendors, improved material options and part quality, and accelerated design iterations—supporting over 350 engineering and design changes for the project.
