How CAREL Standardized Maintenance Across Plants with Maintenance Connection

CAREL, a global manufacturer of control solutions for HVAC and air quality systems founded in Italy in 1973, faced fragmented maintenance practices after growing through new plants and acquisitions. The company lacked transparency and standardized maintenance across sites, had maintenance schedules that didn’t align with actual machine operations, and needed better analytics and inventory control to manage costs and spare parts efficiently.

In 2023 CAREL implemented Maintenance Connection CMMS, piloting at headquarters and rolling the model out to six more factories in seven months. The deployment covered seven plants, 4,000+ assets and 500+ maintenance plans, delivering group-level visibility and standardized maintenance processes, enabling MES integration for improved preventive maintenance, reducing downtime and costs, and optimizing spare-parts management; CAREL is now expanding into spare-parts workflows, skill matrices and AI-driven insights.
