BioKyowa Experiences Increased Work Order Completion and Decreased Equipment Downtime

BioKyowa, a long‑standing amino‑acid manufacturer, faced challenges tracking recurring inspections, critical calibrations and preventive maintenance because their ERP lacked maintenance scheduling and everything was on paper. To modernize audits and PMs and go paperless on tablets, BioKyowa selected MaintainX and its CMMS to better schedule, track and document repairs and inspections.

MaintainX’s user‑friendly CMMS was rolled out across maintenance (and is expanding to other departments), enabling electronic signoffs, clear handheld visibility and reporting. Since mid‑February 2022 BioKyowa has added nearly 7,000 assets, 5,100+ parts and created more than 2,700 work orders in MaintainX; month‑to‑month Work Orders are up 20–30% with completion rates rising, approvals that once took up to an hour now take seconds, and overall equipment downtime from failures has decreased.
