Maxi Sport, Italy’s benchmark chain for casual fashion and technical sports equipment, needed a more effective way to turn out-of-stock situations into sales opportunities and improve customer communication across its e-commerce business. With MailUp and its SMTP+ service, the retailer looked to automate timely, personalized messaging for its online store.

MailUp implemented transactional and triggered emails integrated with Magento, including the “Coming Soon” feature to notify customers when products returned to stock. The results were strong: the Coming Soon campaign converted at four times Maxi Sport’s average and reduced post-click bounce rate by 3.6%, while open rates and click-through-open rates also exceeded industry benchmarks.
