How The Software House Approaches Email Development

The Software House (TSH), a software development company, faced significant challenges in testing email functionality for their client projects. Their previous methods, using dedicated SMTP servers and disposable email addresses, were time-consuming, expensive, and insecure. Their own automated testing framework, Kakunin, also required a reliable and automated solution for email testing that they could not build in-house. They turned to Mailtrap and its Fake SMTP server for a dedicated email testing solution.

By implementing Mailtrap, TSH created separate, shared inboxes for different environments and projects, ensuring emails were organized and easily accessible. They integrated the Mailtrap API with their Kakunin framework to fully automate email testing. The solution was set up in minutes, dramatically reducing engineering workload. The team now efficiently tests over 500 messages monthly with 54 users, verifying emails quickly and securely in one centralized place.
