Reflex Media, a full-service marketing and development agency that helps startups scale, needed a more customizable, insight-driven email solution to drive premium membership growth in a crowded online-dating market. After outgrowing GUI-focused platforms like Constant Contact and Mailchimp, the team required automated, logic-driven transactional and marketing email flows and help mitigating delivery throttling from Chinese QQ.com addresses.
Working with Mailgun and a Technical Account Manager, Reflex Media implemented dedicated IPs per client, honored QQ rate limits, added DMARC and other authentications, and completed DNS and sending-domain configuration to follow best practices. The changes raised delivery from ~92% to 97.5%, drove an 1800% increase in unique opens for site notifications, an 817% lift in unique click rate, and cut suppression rates from 6.58% to 1.27%.
