A Mailgun Case Study
PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) is a leading battle‑royale game with over 70 million units sold, where fast, reliable account creation and transactional messaging are critical to the player experience. As the game scaled, PUBG began outgrowing its email provider—facing slow domain authentication and lacking the responsiveness and developer-focused tooling needed to maintain seamless sign-ups and confirmations.
PUBG migrated to Mailgun (and adopted Mailjet for marketing) and engaged Mailgun’s Deliverability Service and a Technical Account Manager to implement IP segmentation, warm up dedicated IPs, and proactively monitor deliverability. The changes separated marketing and transactional streams, improved reputation management, and increased delivery rates from 90% to 98%, resulting in more reliable account communications and better campaign performance.
